Bang on a Can celebrates its 20th Anniversary Season with a signature Marathon concert in San Francisco. On February 9 we're bringing in 10-HOURS of live ear-bending border-crossing music from around the corner and around the globe. Musicians and composers from all over the world will descend on the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco for a remarkable all-day concert. Michael Gordon's vocal setting of the letters that Vincent Van Gogh wrote to his brother Theo. Gordon writes : "What attracted me so much to these letters was the pain, the rawness, and the brutal honesty. I really found it hard to believe that anyone could tell another person, even his brother, the raw emotions that he experiences - so painful, so lonely, so humiliating."
